Our Climate Consciousness and Specialised Staff

Our unit constitutes a group of specialised staff with comprehensive experience in the provision of professional technical advice and services to governmental organisations, as well as private enterprises that have a need for or a special interest in services that can lead to a direct reduction in GHG emissions.

The global services include:

Mitigation analysis, vulnerability and capacity analysis, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) measures and tools; institutional development and capacity building, GHG emissions reduction measures through the implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, development and Vertically Integrated Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (VNAMAs).

Danish Energy Management & Esbensen were Pioneers

The core competency of Danish Energy Management & Esbensen has been founded within the energy sector since the company’s beginning, and one of the core sectors in climate change mitigation. The company has provided technical and consultancy services for over 30 years in implementing and upgrading clean and efficient energy supplies, energy conservation, and demand-side management.

So, before climate change received the deserved international recognition as a critical issue, Danish Energy Management & Esbensen promoted and contributed to a reduction of CO2 emissions by delivering services that ensured that energy savings and adoption of renewable energy solutions were of paramount importance.

Internationally, Danish Energy Management & Esbensen has been involved in activities that contribute to global energy conservation for more than 30 years. The company’s list of references on energy includes more than 50 countries and over 100 projects.

As a company, in order to respond to the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol, Danish Energy Management & Esbensen have built a strong, internal capacity in providing quality services related to the implementation of the Protocol’s flexible mechanisms, now in its second commitment period. With a view to the 2015 International Agreement, which will have legislative and regulatory implications, Danish Management and Esbensen are looking forward to supporting partners in meeting the commitments that are expected to be signed up for in December 2015.

Strong Regional Expertise

Based on the company’s vast experience in South-East Asia, Danish Energy Management & Esbensen have frequently been selected by the Danish government to assist in its efforts to support sustainable and high profile Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in the region. Apart from these successes and making use of the lessons learned, Danish Energy Management & Esbensen are growing its CDM portfolio to include China, India and several African countries.

The Seller-buyer Exchange for Carbon Credits 


Danish Energy Management & Esbensen facilitate productive collaborations between both CDM/ Joint Initiative (JI), project developers and carbon credit buyers. Having offices located in a large number of the countries where the potential to develop and implement CDM/ JI activities is largely untapped, Danish Energy Management & Esbensen represents a strong partner for both seller and buyer.

To the “seller”, Danish Energy Management & Esbensen can provide experienced assistance regarding all the stages of project identification, formulation and implementation – from the conceptualisation of a potential CDM/JI project to the final registration with the UNFCCC. To the “buyer”, we are able to assist with specific carbon credit acquisitions, portfolio management, project monitoring and risk management, ensuring the delivery of Certified Emission Reductions (CERs).
